In-Person Comprehensive Movement Assessment

If you're an active person dealing with persistent pain or a recurring injury, the In-Person Comprehensive Movement Assessment looks beyond just the sore spot. Christos Hughes assesses how your body moves as a whole to identify what may be contributing to your symptoms, so the plan you leave with is built around that.

What it is

This is a 105-minute, one-on-one assessment at the Join the Movmt clinic space inside Vision Personal Training, Randwick, NSW. Rather than focusing only on the joint or muscle that's painful, the session looks at how your feet, ankles, knees, hips, spine, ribcage, and skull are organised in standing, and how each of those areas moves and interacts with the rest of your body. That combination — structural assessment plus functional movement assessment — is what allows the findings to be turned into a program that's actually built for you.

Who this is for

This assessment is for active individuals experiencing pain who want a detailed, face-to-face assessment and personalised, in-person guidance. It suits people who've tried treating the pain directly without lasting results, and want to understand what's actually driving it. If you'd rather do this from home, the Virtual Comprehensive Movement Assessment offers the same level of detail through a different process, done remotely.

What it costs

$360 AUD. HICAPS health fund and Medicare rebates (where applicable) can be claimed on the spot at the clinic.

How long it takes

Around 105 minutes. That's enough time to properly assess your movement, talk through what's found, and build a clear plan forward — without rushing any part of it.

The process, step by step

1. Standing structural assessment. Christos assesses how your body is organised in standing, including your feet, ankles, knees, hips, spine, ribcage, and skull.

2. Functional movement assessment. Each area is then assessed for how it moves and interacts with the rest of your body — building a picture of how your structures coordinate and how your body manages load.

3. Discussion of findings. You'll go through what's been found together, including what movement strategies may be contributing to your pain.

4. Individualised movement program. Your findings are used to build a movement program specific to you.

5. Ongoing reassessment. We monitor your response to activity and refine your plan through ongoing reassessment, helping reduce persistent pain, prevent injury recurrence, and build long-term load tolerance.
